Albert Road GP Surgery - Update for patients 15th November 2021

Dear Patients ,

As you may already know, we have sadly received notification from our landlord that we have to vacate our premises at Albert Road by 1st April 2022 and have made the difficult decision to hand back our GMS contract to Cardiff and Vale University Health Board.

This means that from 18th March 2022, GP Services from this practice will end.

Please be reassured that Albert Road GP Surgery is still open and will continue to provide GP Services until this date. At this moment in time, patients do not need to do anything and can continue to see their GP and access services as normal.

We appreciate this may cause our patients some distress and anxiety but patients do not need to register at another practice in the area, as this could cause disruption to services. Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is working closely with local practices and stakeholders to identify a solution to continue to provide you with access to a GP Practice.

We would like to reiterate that no patients in this area will lose access to GP services and Cardiff and Vale University Health Board will keep patients informed and updated as soon as they are able to do so.

As a practice, may we respectfully ask that you direct any questions or queries to the Health Board* or the Community Health Council* who can offer further clarity on any issues you may wish to raise. Unfortunately, our reception, nursing and medical staff are unable to deal with these questions directly as we have very limited information.

Flu jabs in England and Wales delayed due to HGV driver shortage

We have been informed that our vaccine deliveries have been delayed, but we should be receiving our flu vaccines at the beginning of October. Please keep checking on our website for more up to date information regarding flu vaccine appointments.

We apologise for the inconvenience caused by our phone lines not working first thing this morning.

Our phone company said there was a fault with the system. This was rectified promptly.
